North Texas Promo Companies, PPAI Endure Heavy Rain And Isolated Flooding
Light rain continued to scatter across the Dallas-Fort Worth area Tuesday morning, further adding to the torrential downpour that much of the area received beginning late Sunday night and throughout the day on Monday. Following months of drought conditions, some areas reported 12 inches or more in less than 24 hours.
The day's rainfall has been described as a "one in 1,000 years event." A disaster was declared due to flash flooding that killed at least one person, and state and local officials were continuing to assess the damage to the region on Tuesday. More rain is expected later this week.
PPAI, headquartered in Irving, Texas, withstood the storms without any major damage to its headquarters building. Although commute times were disrupted, no staff members had reported any major difficulties from the storms as of Tuesday morning. A number of industry companies are based in the area, and are encouraged to report disruptions to business and staff concerns by emailing News@PPAI.org.
