McCabe Promotional Earns B Corp Certification
McCabe Promotional (PPAI 100575, D1), a distributor based in London, Ontario, has earned a B Corp certification. Certified B Corporations are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance purpose and profit. Unlike traditional corporations, B Corps are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders: customers, employees, communities and the environment before their shareholders. There are now more than 3,000 B Corp organizations globally.
“We’re extremely proud to be a Certified B Corporation and part of a movement that is proving companies can balance profit and purpose,” says Jamie McCabe, company president. “With every action we take, we strive to be thoughtful and respectful of everyone who is impacted by our business. This approach extends to how we engage our employees and source products to how we treat the environment and give back to the community.”
A family-owned business founded in London in 1981 with offices across Ontario and 50 employees, McCabe is a promotional products distributor with an agency-style approach, which allows clients to achieve their marketing goals through the use of branded merchandise.
“We first heard about the designation from a client and fellow B Corp,” says McCabe. “The more we researched it, the more we realized that we had the attributes of a Certified B Corporation. Consumers today are not only seeking out environmentally sustainable options, but they are also demanding companies conduct business in a more socially conscious and ethical manner. We strive to be at the forefront of the changing market and have even sourced a collection of sustainable products called the Impact Collection. With the collection, we hope to demonstrate that thoughtful marketing strategies are not only sustainable, but also a more impactful and engaging option for brands to tell their story.”
McCabe worked over the past 12 months to complete the B Corp assessment, which analyzes its commitment to team engagement, good governance, community involvement, customer stewardship and environmental sustainability. To maintain certification, B Corps are reassessed every three years.
