How did your company get its start?

After 40 years in the industry, I retired from Facilisgroup about two years ago. Distributor owners kept calling me for strategic help. My semi-retirement hobby consulting business just kept growing, and now it has become a real business with lots of clients and several different offerings.

Over that time, I have developed a system to help distributors find their path as they strive to achieve their goals. This includes many documents for business planning, staff management systems, budgets and financial health, exit strategy and more. Now it’s time to leverage that work, scale up and try to help more distributor owners.

What led your company to enter the promotional products market?

I’ve spent the bulk of my career in the promo industry. I started as an independent sales rep in the ’80s, owned my own distributorship during the ’90s and did some consulting in the 2000s before going on a 12-year run as VP of new business development at Facilisgroup. It just seemed natural to go back to consulting and start using my knowledge and experience to help others be more successful.

What’s your favorite thing about being in the promotional products industry?

When I was a distributor, I loved how there was always something new to get excited about – a new client, a new product, a new trend. Now, I love the fact that so many people seem to value the help I can provide them. It’s very rewarding to see my clients move forward toward achieving their goals and become so successful.

Why did you join PPAI?

I have a lot of respect for the people at PPAI who have dedicated their efforts to help our industry grow. I’ve been fortunate to work with PPAI on projects that support the membership and really feel like our whole industry benefits from the organization. I can’t think of a better way to connect with distributors and add value, just like PPAI does.
