Q: Over the past year, what extra actions have you taken to strengthen your company’s culture and keep employees engaged, motivated and happy at work?

“Despite the challenging nature of the past and current year, we enforced the same benefits— focusing on health care and all promised additions to provide our team with the security they need. We check in with each person monthly to find out about the goings-on in their lives, if they needed allowance for flexibility (children, parents, etc.). We continue to offer remote and in-person operation options to incentivize them to do their best. Our open-door policy to discuss anything from self to family has made us stronger as a unit. Lastly, we have a very food-driven team. Being in Houston, Texas—it’s hard not to. We have monthly (distanced) potlucks and lunches to connect and enjoy each other’s company as well as cake more than a few times a month. No one says no to cake here!”
