PPB: What’s your secret to creating a workplace where employees are happy and thriving?
Jeff Baumet, CFO and VP of Operations, Club Colors
“At Club Colors, we believe in a culture centered around mutual respect. About five years ago, we defined what we call the ‘Self-Reinforcing Culture.’ It communicates and supports that we are an organization comprised of individuals who are respected, trusted, depended on and dependent on a whole team of other individuals who are also respected, trusted, depended on and dependent on … and so forth. Each employee knows that we, as management, have their back and vice versa. There are no “make work” jobs here; it takes every person in every position from sales to the warehouse, to accounting and elsewhere, to create a business we can all be proud of. We do our best to make sure that each person knows they are valued through company events like the annual State of the Union dinner and our chartered fishing trip to a simple “thank you” for a job well done. There is an understanding that salespeople don’t make sales in a vacuum. We are all part of a single entity where we create success for our clients.
“As a team we strive to create an environment where there is satisfaction in the work we do because we respect the people we are serving and the people we serve with.”
